“I used to travel in a straight line. Now I’m walking on a road that winds. you take my hand, we take our time, we take our time”
Lucy Kaplansky, Manhattan Moon
I’ve used music as as a link to our RV travels before. Mostly Folk music because it almost always tells a story. We saw Lucy Kaplansky at the Lyons Folk Fest years ago and we fell in love with her music. Manhattan Moon has always been one of my favorites. I was listening to it today and when I heard the refrain (above), it literally brought tears to my eyes. I’ve always been one to take the winding road, rather than the straight and narrow. Although I settled in Boulder over 30 years ago, I’ve taken quite a few turns and side roads in my life. But now, this IS our life. To hear it so beautifully expressed in a song made my heart sing. I hope you enjoy it and check out her music.
A road that winds, over Red Mountain Pass from Ouray to Silverton Colorado
With beautiful vistas, we’re traveling together.
